How we serve

Each year we raise funds and plan a variety of service projects aimed at improving life in our community. Some of our fundraising projects include

Golf Tournament
Bi-annual car raffle
Poker Tournament

Our service projects are many, and include

Providing back-to-school clothes and supplies for low-income students in the Peninsula School District
Reading to pre-school students and giving them books to take home
Coordinating a bike program that gives hundreds of renovated bikes to disadvantaged children
The development of leadership and public service in middle and high schools by through our Builders Club and Key Clubs.
Providing scholarships for students in all of the high schools in our district

Our civic and charitable projects include

Pancake breakfasts for the Cancer Relay, the Maritime Gig Festival, and others
Christmas and Thanksgiving baskets for those in need
Food drives benefitting area food banks
Blood Drives

Kiwanis International
Kiwanis International was started in 1915 in Detroit, and its international offices are currently located in Indianapolis. Kiwanis was founded on six permanent objectives which still ring true today

To give primacy to the human and spiritual, rather than to the material values of life.
To encourage the daily living of the Golden Rule in all human relationships
To promote the adoption and application of higher social, business, and professional standards.
To develop, by precept and example, a more intelligent, aggressive, and serviceable citizenship.
To provide, through this club, a practical means to form enduring friendships, to render altruistic service, and to build a better community.
To cooperate in creating and maintaining that sound public opinion and high idealism which make possible the increase of righteousness, justice, patriotism, and goodwill.
