This program benefits students in the Peninsula School District. In partnership with local community organizations, KCK identifies and helps meet the essential needs of our community's children to enhance their self-esteem, education and life experiences.
Kiwanis Cares for Kids
The proceeds from the Wine Tasting event help fund the Gig Harbor Kiwanis Cares for Kids (KCK) program. Kiwanis Cares for Kids, our club's Signature Program, supports our community’s youth by enhancing their self-esteem and life experiences. KCK provides new clothes and shoes to students in need, funds PSD school field trips, and provides PSD teachers and schools with requested funds to supplement students’ education.
In July 2024, Kiwanis Club of Gig Harbor was honored to receive the Bronze Award for KCK (3rd place) out of 525 submissions from Kiwanis Clubs across the globe. Kiwanis Cares for Kids is funded through grants, community sponsors, and community fundraisers like the Holiday Wine Tasting Event. In December 2024 the Kiwanis Holiday Wine Tasting event raised $20,000 for the Kiwanis Cares for Kids program. Click here to learn more.
